
SCHWALBACH, SUFFRANT SCORE TWO GOALS APIECE AS MIDDLESEX TOPS LEHIGH CARBON 8-1
Middlesex College Women's Soccer concluded the 2022 regular season with a dominant win over Lehigh Carbon, topping the Cougars 8-1.
Five different Colts found the back of the net and Rania Alaboura (Sophomore/Edison, NJ) registered four saves in goal as Middlesex concluded the regular season with a record of 5-6-1.
Kimberlie Suffrant (Sophomore/Irvington, NJ) got the Colts on the board first when she converted a pass from Camila Lucas (Sophomore/South River in the 11th minute.
The game remained close throughout the first 27 minutes, but Middlesex tallied three goals in a 14-minute span to take command going into the half.
Akylah Hawkins (Freshman/North Brunswick, NJ), Lucas and Madison Schwalbach (Freshman/South Plainfield, NJ) were the goal scorers for the Colts.
The second half played out similarly with four more goals coming for Middlesex. Megan O'Grady (Sophomore/Monroe, NJ) scored in the 52nd minute to extend the Colts lead to 5-0.
Lucas, Suffrant and Schwalbach followed to give Middlesex their 8-1 advantage.
This was Suffrant's fourth two-goal game of the season and the first multi-goal game of Schwalbach's career.
With the regular season complete, Middlesex now waits for word on a possible postseason berth.
