MARIN NETS TWO AS ANTUNES AND COLTS BLANK LEHIGH CARBON 8-0

Isabelle Marin scored two goals and Paula Antunes picked up her first collegiate win in goal as Middlesex College topped Lehigh Carbon 8-0.

Marin now has seven goals on the season and is in the top 10 goal scorers in the country among NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer players.

The Colts are now 2-3 on the season.

Marin got the scoring started in the eleventh minute when she converted a pass from Genesis Garces-Gomez to give the Colts a 1-0 lead.

After Lehigh Carbon scored an own goal, Middlesex reeled off three goals in less than 10 minutes to put the game away. Jasmin Alvarado (Sophomore/Plainfield, NJ), Garces-Gomez and Marin were the goal scorers who sent the Colts to a 5-0 halftime lead.

Sara Sanchez (Sophomore/Carteret, NJ) scored the sixth Middlesex goal just two and a half minutes into the second half and Zoe Bozzone (Freshman/Bayonne, NJ) and Adelis Carabali (Freshman/North Plainfield, NJ) capped off the scoring for the Colts.

Middlesex held Lehigh Carbon to just three shots on goal, all of which were saved by Antunes.

The Colts are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Bergen CC. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30PM.
