BENDIX, O'HALLORAN LEAD MIDDLESEX BASEBALL OVER KINGSBOROUGH

Thomas O'Halloran went 4-5 with three runs and two RBIs and Gage Bendix and Isiah Figueroa combined on a one-hitter as Middlesex College topped Kingsborough College 18-0 to snap a three-game losing streak.

Six Colts had multi-hit game and Joseph Haytas (Freshman/Sayreville, NJ) belted his first collegiate homer in the win.

Middlesex (3-3) got the offense going quickly, plating six runs in the top of the first. The Colts sent ten batters to the plat in the inning with the big blow coming off the bat of Haytas with a three-run homer.

After scoring solo runs in the second and third, Middlesex struck for ten runs over the next two innings. O'Halloran had a two-run single in the fourth and Jordan Brown (Sophomore/Piscataway, NJ) delivered a two-run single in the fifth.

The offensive outburst was more than enough support for Bendix, who struck out five while allowing just one hit and one walk over four innings. Figueroa came on to finish the game, hurling a hitless fifth inning.

Nicholas Loniewski (Sophomore/South Plainfield, NJ) went 3-3 with two runs scored and Connor Luckie went 3-5 with three RBIs. Haytas went 2-2 with three runs, three RBIs and three walks.

The Colts had 18 hits on the afternoon.

Middlesex now will move on to Myrtle Beach where they will be participating in the Ripken Experience. They will be playing seven games in five days beginning Saturday when they take on Garrett College and Nassau Community College. First pitch against Garrett is scheduled for 3:30pm.
