Bio
Coach Brian Weins has been a member of the MCC baseball coaching staff since the spring of 2014. A former MCC baseball player himself, coaching and teaching has always been a passion of his. Following his playing days at Middlesex, coach Weins embarked on his coaching career in the summer of 2013. Working alongside Cal Ripken Jr., he traveled around the country teaching the youth how to play baseball as a part of the “Ripken Way.” Coach Weins also joined the Woodbridge High School staff in the summer of 2013, helping lead the Barrons to the NJABC State Championship as their pitching coach. This was the first baseball state championship in Woodbridge school history.
Throughout his tenure at MCC, coach Weins has played a vital role in helping to advance the program. He has helped create multiple social media accounts as well as a team website to create more exposure for the athletes. His primary role on the staff is to work with the pitchers and catchers, but he also spends a great deal of time with the hitters and the recruitment of prospective high school student athletes as well. During the 2016 season, coach Weins helped guide the MCC pitching staff to 29 wins and a 4.32 team ERA, which included two undefeated starting pitchers.
