#21 MIDDLESEX STAYS UNDEFEATED WITH 87-78 WIN OVER ESSEX CC
Jahmere Glover scored 23 points and led the team with nine rebounds as Middlesex College pulled away from Essex CC in the second half, topping the Wolverines 87-78 in a tough Region 19 road matchup.
The win moved the #21 Colts to 7-0 on the season as they remain one of just three undefeated teams in Region 19 regardless of division.
Essex CC (1-3) gave the Colts all they could handle early on and the game went to the half with the Colts holding a narrow 38-37 lead.
However, as has been the trend all season, the Colts remained focused and composed in close games and outscored Essex CC 48-41 on their way to a nine-point win.
Savion Pressley (Sophomore/Woodbridge, NJ) and Nigel Garcia (Sophomore/Maplewood, NJ) each scored 14 points for the Colts with Garcia's total pacing all reserves. Pressley topped the Colts with five assists.
Lorenzo Perez (Freshman/Perth Amboy, NJ) scored 13 off the bench for Middlesex as well.
Jakin Edmond (Sophomore/Union, NJ) had seven rebounds, eight points and two steals in another solid all-around effort for the Colts.
Middlesex returns to the court in a big matchup against Montgomery CC on Thursday. Montgomery is also 7-0 and is currently the #7 ranked team in the nation among NJCAA D3 schools. Tipoff set for 7:00PM.
