
ANTHONY WILLIAMS GRABS 22 REBOUNDS IN 87-74 WIN OVER CAMDEN CC
Anthony Williams set a career high with 22 rebounds and four Colts scored in double digits as Middlesex College Men's Basketball topped Camden CC, 87-74 for their sixth straight win.
The Colts, who have locked up a berth in the Region XIX Division II playoffs, moved to 15-6 on the season. Camden fell to 13-8 with the loss.
Middlesex got off to a fast start, building an 11-2 lead over the first five minutes of the game, and remained in control from there. The Colts led by as many as 13 points in the first half on their way to a 47-36 halftime lead.
The second half was similar to the first. Camden was able to cut the Colts lead down to single digits on multiple occasions, but Middlesex was always able to answer and build their lead back into the low teens.
Camden cut the Middlesex lead down to just five with nine minutes remaining, but an 18-9 Colts run leading into the final minutes gave Middlesex a comfortable cushion as they closed out the victory.
Sean Williams (Freshman/Old Bridge, NJ) led Middlesex with 19 points and six assists. Nigel Garcia (Sophomore/Maplewood, NJ) continued to be a force off the bench for the Colts. He had 17 points in 19 minutes on 5-9 shooting and 6-6 from the line.
Jahmere Glover (Sophomore/Irvington, NJ) registered a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds for Middlesex as well.
Middlesex has seven games remaining in the season and is still battling for a potential top seed in the Region XIX Division II playoffs. The Colts take on Morris CC, another team battling for the top spot, in a pivotal contest on January 30 at home. Tipoff is set for 7:00PM.
