OCEAN COUNTY COLLEGE SHUTS OUT MENS SOCCER, 2-0

Middlesex College received strong play from goalie Jeremy Madrid, but was kept off the scoreboard ont he offensive end as the Colts fell to Ocean County College 2-0 in Edison.

"Our boys played hard today," said Head Coach Javier Velasco. "They never gave uip which I am proud of. We created some chances but unfortunately we're still having a hard time putting them away."

Madrid (Freshman/Perth Amboy, NJ) registered eight saves in the loss, including a spectaculr kick save in the second half to keep the score 1-0.

Ocean County College scored a goal in each half and outshot Middlesex 10-8.

"We lost focus in two moments and got punished for it," said Velasco. "Now we start preparing for Rutgers-Newark, who is a well-organized and well-coached team."

Claudio Lopez (Freshman/Dunellen,NJ) paced Middlesex with three shots.

The Colts have a quick turnaround after a day off Sunday when they take on Rutgers-Newark JV team on Monday night in Newark. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
