The Middlesex College Men's Soccer is making noise nationally early in the season as the team won their second big game of the week.
After topping Salem 1-0, the Colts beat Ocean County College, the nation's #10 team 4-2 at Ocean. Middlesex is now 2-0 on the season.
Jamie Madrid (Sophomore/Perth Amboy, NJ) and Jonathan Antonio (Freshman/Edison, NJ) scored goals in an exciting first half as the two teams battled to a 2-2 tie at the break.
The Middlesex defense clamped down in the second half while the offense stayed hot. Madrid netted the important tie-breaking goal to give the Colts a 3-2 lead and Olivier Huppolite (Freshman/North Brunswick, NJ) cashed in a vital insurance goal to give the Colts their winning margin.
Jayson Vassallo (Sophomore/South River, NJ) played his second straight strong game in net, registering five saves for Middlesex.
Middlesex has a quick turnaround as they are set to return to the pitch Monday at 4:00PM for a home contest against Northampton CC.
