MIDDLESEX COLLEGE MENS SOCCER TOPS #4 CAMDEN CC, 2-1

Middlesex College struck for two goals and then held off Camden CC to on their way to a 2-1 victory over the Cougars, who came into the match as the nation's fourth-ranked team.

It was the second time this year Middlesex College Men's Soccer went on the road to beat a team ranked in the NJCAA D3 National Top 10, having previously beaten Ocean CC.

Jonathan Antonio (Freshman/Edison, NJ) got the scoring started when he converted a pass from Juan Minota Vega (Freshman/Carteret, NJ) in the game's 16th minute.

The Colts (6-1) made that goal stand up through the first half as they carried a 1-0 lead into the break.

Juan Arboleda (Freshman/Elizabeth, NJ) scored a crucial goal to give the Colts a 2-0 cushion in the 63rd minute. It was the third straight game he has found the back of the net.

The Cougars (5-2) were finally able to break through for a late goal, but Middlesex hung on for the win behind the solid goalkeeping of Jayson Vassallo (Sophomore/South River, NJ). Vassallo registered five saves in the win.

Middlesex, who received votes in this week's NJCAA D3 National Poll, will travel to Raritan Valley to take on the Lions on Thursday. Game time is set for 4:00PM.
