LATE ODUM GOAL PUSHES MIDDLESEX PAST DREW, 1-0

Jayden Odum snapped a scoreless tie in the 72nd minute and Jayson Vassallo and Jeremy Madrid combined for seven saves as Middlesex College Men's Soccer extended their unbeaten streak to seven games with a 1-0 victory over Drew University JV.

The Colts, who were ranked #10 in the nation in the latest NJCAA Division III Men's Soccer poll, have a record of 8-1-1 with five regular season games remaining in the season.

Vassallo got the start in net for Middlesex and turned away four Drew shots as the teams took a scoreless tie into half time.

Madrid replaced Vassallo and, along with a strong Colts defense, preserved the shutout, which was the fifth of the season for Middlesex.

The Colts finally broke through at the 71:15 mark when Odum converted a pass from Michael Esteves for a 1-0 lead. Middlesex held off the Rangers over the final 18:45.

Middlesex is back in action on Saturday when they host Union College at Thomas Edison Park. Kickoff is set for 12:00PM.
