ARBOLEDA'S SECOND HALF GOAL IS THE DIFFERENCE AS MIDDLESEX TOPS RCSJ-GLOUCESTER 1-0

Middlesex College Men's Soccer got in the win column for the first time in 2023 in a big way, gaining a 1-0 victory at RCSJ-Gloucester. It was the first win for the Colts at RCSJ-Gloucester in over a decade.

The two teams battled in a scoreless first half with Middlesex outshooting RCSJ-Gloucester 6-3.

The Colts (1-2) finally broke through in the 52nd minute when Juan Arboleda (Sophomore/Elizabeth, NJ) converted a pass from Alejandro Sipaque (Freshman/Plainfield, NJ) to put Middlesex on top.

From there, the Colts defense played superbly in support of Jhan Paul Hidalgo (Freshman/South Amboy, NJ), who notched his first collegiate win and shutout in goal. Hidalgo recorded eight saves in the winning effort.

The Roadrunners (3-3) outshout Middlesex 12-11 in the tight matchup.

Middlesex returns to the pitch Saturday for another big Region 19 showdown. The Colts will travel to take on Brookdale CC for a 12:00pm start.
