MIDDLESEX MEN'S SOCCER SCORES BIG 3-2 COMEBACK WIN OVER NORTHAMPTON

On the strength of two goals in the final 13 minutes, Middlesex College Men's Soccer notched a big come-from-behind 3-2 victory on the road against Northampton CC.

Middlesex is now 5-2-2 and has five games remaining over the final ten days of the season as they make a push for another postseason berth.

Against Northampton, the Colts fell behind 1-0 just seven minutes into the game. Middlesex answered the Spartans back in the 28th minute on a goal from Ronaldo Valencia (Sophomore/New Brunswick, NJ), sending the game to halftime knotted at 1-1.

The Colts found themselves battling back once again after Northampton scored to go ahead in the 56th minute.

Middlesex kept the pressure on, pushing for the tying goal, and finally broke through when Andres Rojas (Freshman/Elizabeth, NJ) found the back to the net in the 77th minute.

In the waning minutes of a game that seemed like it might end in a draw, Middlesex was awarded a penalty kick in the waning minutes of the game due to a handball in the box.

Ahmed Oshash (Sophomore/Dunellen, NJ) converted the PK for his fifth goal of the season, sending the Colts home victorious.

Northampton outshot Middlesex on the day 12-6, but Joseph Tucker (Freshman/Franklin, NJ) was solid in goal for the Colts, saving five of the seven shots he faced to gather his first collegiate win.

Middlesex currently sits in fourth place in Region 19 and will return to the field on Saturday in a crucial home game against Sussex CC, who is currently in second place. The game will be at Crabiel Field and is scheduled for a 1pm kickoff.
