Middlesex College softball picked up their first sweep of the season on a cold, windy afternoon in Middlesex.
The Colts topped Raritan Valley CC by scores of 14-0 and 13-2.
In Game 1, Summer Ramirez (Sophomore/South Brunswick, NJ) twirled a two-hit shutout registering eight strikeouts in five innings. She was supported offensively by Mackenzie Marsh, Rebecca Ortiz (Sophomore/South Plainfield, NJ) and Madison Szatkowski (Sophomore/Sayreville, NJ). Szatkowski and Marissa Lugo (Sophomore/Iselin, NJ) had three RBIs each.
The Colts bats remained hot in Game 2 in support of Madison Rackett (Freshman/Woodbridge, NJ), who picked up the first win of her career.
The Middlesex offense was paced by Lugo, Szatkowsi and Kaylin Nepton (Sophomore/Middlesex, NJ), who notched three RBIs.
Middlesex returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Salem CC for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30PM.
