RACKETT NAMED NJCAA D3 NATIONAL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Middlesex College sophomore pitcher Madison Rackett got her 2025 off to a fantastic start after a great freshman season and she has been recognized nationally for her effort.
Rackett was named the NJCAA Division III National Pitcher of the Week after winning both ends of a doubleheader sweep of Bergen CC.
The righty from Woodbridge, NJ pitched a one-hit shutout in Game 1 in a 13-0 win and then came on in relief with the Colts down in Game 2 and allowed just one run over 3.1 innings as Middlesex rallied for a win.
Rackett also had a fantastic day at the plate going 7-8 with a home run, three doubles, a walk, four runs scored and five RBIs.
Earlier in the week, Rackett was named the Garden State Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. Teammate Makenzie Marsh (Sophomore/Middlesex, NJ) was named the GSAC Player of the Week after belting three home runs in a doubleheader sweep of Bergen.
Rackett is the first Colts athlete to receive National Player of the Week honors by the NJCAA this year.
Middlesex returns to action Saturday when they host Brookdale CC in a home doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00PM.
