MIDDLESEX WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS CAMDEN CC IN SEASON FINALE TO GIVE MICHEL POWELL 400TH CAREER WIN

Middlesex College Women's Basketball finished their regular season with a 69-43 win over Camden CC. In the process, history was made when Head Coach Michel Powell recorded her 400th career NJCAA win.

The win capped a successful season for the Colts, who were competing on the NJCAA Division II level for the first time. Middlesex finished the regular season with a record of 17-10 and has qualified for the NJCAA Region 19 Tournament.

Against Camden, Middlesex struggled offensively to start and the Cougars held a 15-11 lead after one quarter. However, Middlesex went on an 11-1 run to start the second quarter and didn't look back from there.

Ashley Knuth (Sophomore/Middlesex, NJ) had 10 points in the first half as Middlesex went to the break holding a 29-26 lead.

The Colts pulled away in the second half that's to a huge third quarter. Middlesex outscored the Cougars 24-9 in the quarter and carried an 18 point lead into the final quarter on their way to a decisive victory.

Courtney Hansen (Sophomore/Carteret, NJ) had a game-high 18 points while Knuth finished with 14.

Middlesex will be in action next week when they travel to Lackawanna for the first round of the NJCAA Region 19 Tournament. Details on the game are forthcoming.
