Bio

Francis Dunn was hired as the Middlesex College Wrestling Head Coach in October of 2024.

Dunn will immediately take over a program that sent six wrestlers to the NJCAA National Tournament and qualified for the Region 19 tournament last season and he’s thrilled for the opportunity to lead the Colts.

Dunn had a remarkable wrestling career at Boonton (NJ) High School where he posted a career record of 111-9. He capped off an undefeated senior year by winning an NJSIAA State Championship at 140 pounds in 1992. He went 29-0 as a senior and allowed just 14 points to be scored on him all season.

After Boonton, Dunn wrestled for Rider University where he made an immediate impact. He was a conference champion in 1994 and 1995 and was named Most Valuable Wrestler for the Broncos in 1995.

Dunn missed much of the 1995-96 season with a serious injury, but bounced back to have an incredible season for Rider in 1997. Dunn qualified for the NCAA National Tournament where he won three matches to secure All-American status.

Dunn was inducted into the Rider University Hall of Fame in 2006 and was awarded the Medal of Courage by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2004.
