MIDDLESEX WOMENS SOCCER SCORES LATE TO SALVAGE 2-2 TIE WITH SUNY ULSTER

Akylah Hawkins scored nine minutes into the second half and Kimberlie Suffrant scored in her third straight game as Middlesex College tied SUNY Ulster in their first home game of the season.

Suffrant got the scoring started when she found the back of the net in the seventh minute of the game for her seventh goal of the season.

However, the Senators (3-2-2) evened the game with a goal of their own as the game went to the break tied at one.

SUNY Ulster broke the tie early in the second half and held the lead for most of the half.

After challenging multiple times, the Colts (3-3-1) finally broke through with the tying goal when Hawkins scored on a header off a pass from Megan O'Grady (Sophomore/Monroe, NJ) with nine minutes remaining.

Middlesex and SUNY Ulster traded sporadic opportunities across two ten-minute overtime periods, but neither team could score the game winner, sending the game to a 2-2 final.

Rania Alaboura (Sophomore/Edison, NJ) had seven saves for the Colts.

Middlesex is back home again Thursday for a showdown against Camden County College. Kickoff is set for 4:00PM.
