CHIRINO, GARCES-GOMEZ COMBINE FOR 7 GOALS IN 9-2 WIN OVER CAMDEN CC

Gissel Chirino and Genesis Garces-Gomez have been offensive powerhouses in the early part of the season for the Middlesex College Women's Soccer team and both continued their success in a 9-2 win over Camden County College.

Chirno buried four goals and Garces-Gomez added three of her own to give the Colts (3-1) a win in their Region XIX opener.

Chirino has scored a goal in every game for Middlesex so far with three multi-goal games.

Against Camden, Chirino got the scoring started for the Colts with goals in the 18th minute and 34th minute. Garces-Gomez added a third first-half goal for Middlesex as they took a 3-0 lead into the half over Camden (0-4)

For the second straight game, the Colts put the game out of reach with a dominant second half.

Chirino scored just 30 seconds into the half and Isabelle Marin (Freshman/South Plainfield, NJ) scored her fifth goal of the season seven minutes later.

Chirino added one more second half goal and Garces-Gomez added two more in the half as well. Ashlee Clotter-Quijano (Sophomore/Iselin, NJ) scored in her second straight game to cap the scoring.

Chirno is currently fifth in the nation among NJCAA Division III schools in goals (9) and points (22). Middlesex ranks fifth in the country with an average of six goals per game.

Adrianna Nazarko (Freshman/South Plainfield, NJ) recorded nine saves to in notching her third win of the season.

Middlesex is scheduled to travel south to take on the College of Southern Maryland and Anne Arundel Community College in back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday. Game times are scheduled for 1:00pm and 12:00pm, respectively.
