MARIN'S FIRST HALF HAT TRICK LEADS MIDDLESEX WOMEN'S SOCCER PAST BROOKDALE CC

Returning All-Region honoree Isabelle Marin registered a first-half hat trick and Genesis Garces-Gomez scored two goals as Middlesex College women's soccer picked up their first win of the year, a 6-0 victory over defending Region 19 District A champion Brookdale CC.

The win improved the Colts record to 1-2 on the season while the Jersey Blues fell to 0-3.

Marin got the scoring started early, converting a pass from Emma Petrocelli (Freshman/East Brunswick, NJ) at the 9:40 mark. She added her second goal in the 23^rd minute and then extended the Colts lead to 3-0 within the final five minutes of the first half.

Marin also had a hat trick in the first win of the season last year for Middlesex.

Garces-Gomez took over the scoring in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 49^th and 57^th minute to extend the Middlesex lead to 5-0.

Adrianna Martucci (Freshman/Sayreville, NJ) scored her first collegiate goal with just over ten minutes to play off an assist from Marin to cap the scoring.

Kaitlyn Haak (Freshman/Keasby, NJ) played the entire game in goal for Middlesex and picked up her first collegiate victory. She had four saves in the shutout effort.

Middlesex is back in action Monday when they take on Mercer CC in a home matchup. Kickoff is set for 4:00PM.
