MARIN AND GARCES-GOMEZ SCORE TWICE EACH AS MIDDLESEX COLLEGE TOPS ATLANTIC CAPE 6-0

Isabelle Marin had a hand in five goals (2 goals, 3 assists) and Genesis Garces-Gomez scored two goals as Middlesex College topped Atlantic Cape Community College 6-0.

It was the fifth multi-goal game each for Marin and Garces-Gomez as the Colts moved to 6-4 on the season.

Kaitlyn Haak returned to goal after missing more than two weeks and posted her second shutout of the season in the win.

Garces-Gomez got the scoring started early, giving Middlesex a 1-0 lead within the game's first five minutes. Marin gave Middlesex some breathing room heading into the half when she converted a pass from Paula Antunes in the 35^th minute as the Colts carried a 2-0 lead into the break.

Antunes found the back of the net herself 3:30 into the second half and Esmaralda Castellanos Jimenez extended the Colts lead to 4-0 nine minutes later.

Garces-Gomez and Marin scored the final tallies for Middlesex to give them their deciding 6-0 win.

This was the third game this season that Marin reached at least seven points and her 38 points now places her third in the nation, and just three points away from first place, among NJCAA Division III players.

The Colts return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Nassau Community College. Kickoff is set for 4:00PM.
